Indians Pull Off Thrilling 8-7 Win in Extras
|
The Cleveland Indians beat the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 8-7. first baseman Carlos Santana deserved the lion's share of the credit. Santana went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Indians. Cleveland reliever Daniel Stumpf was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Miguel Castro took the loss. The victory gives Cleveland a record of 45-29.
The Indians procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Jose Ramirez. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Santana, "but we got it done."
