Margot Propels Rays to 6-4 Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.
Behind a fine performance from Manuel Margot, the Tampa Bay Rays knocked off the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-4. Margot was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Rays. Colin Poche notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-1. Nick Anderson was credited with the save, his 11th in 14 tries.
Tampa Bay used the clutch hitting of Hunter Renfroe to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Rays the lead, 6-3. For the game, Renfroe had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We played hard and won," said Margot. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Tampa Bay now has a record of 39-37 with the win.
