Blue Jays Sneak Past Brewers, 4-3
|
Fans watched the Toronto Blue Jays and the Milwaukee Brewers fight to the finish.
The Toronto Blue Jays faced a tough opponent in Milwaukee pitcher Brandon Woodruff, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Miller Park by a final score of 4-3. Woodruff went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Toronto is in last place in the American League East Division with a record of 35-44.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Reese McGuire was at the plate when Toronto scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blue Jays to go in front, 4-3.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said following the tough loss.
