Juan Soto impressed in the 6-4 Washington win over Cincinnati. Soto, who finished 5th in the NL in on-base percentage with .401 last year, was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Patrick Corbin picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 9-3. Will Harris got the save, his 13th in 14 chances.
Trea Turner, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in hits with 106, helped out the Washington cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Soto told the Washington Observer.
