Washington Beats Cincinnati, 8-1
|
The Washington Nationals picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 8-1. Starting pitcher Michael Wacha played a key role in the triumph. With the win, the Nationals sit at 50-33.
It could have been a different outcome for Washington, had it not been for Michael A. Taylor, the 29-year old center fielder . Taylor contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Washington up, 1-0.
"We maximized our offense today," said Washington skipper Dave Martinez. "That makes everyone's life easier."
