Mariners Knock Off Rangers, 8-4
|
Texas center fielder Danny Santana had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Santana was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Seattle beat the Rangers, 8-4. The win belongs to Sam Tuivailala in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kyle Gibson took the loss for Texas. The Mariners keep rolling, raising their record to 3-1.
Dee Gordon, who finished 5th in the NL in hits with 176 in 2014, helped out the Seattle cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run triple. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 4 with a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"I like our moxie," said Mariners manager Scott Servais.
