The 10-7 Texas win over Colorado was due largely to Elvis Andrus. The Rangers shortstop was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Texas reliever Nick Goody picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. German Marquez was tagged with the loss. Colorado drops to 3-8.

Andrus contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Texas in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-4, Andrus took a fastball from German Marquez and stroked the triple to left. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 6-5.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Texas skipper Chris Woodward.
