Santander Slugs Orioles to 7-1 Win
|
Baltimore right fielder Anthony Santander helped his team beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-1. Santander, who is tied for 8th in the AL in total bases with 37, went 3 for 4 for the Orioles. The Pirates are now 6-10.
Hanser Alberto had a big 2-run double for the Orioles in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Chris Archer and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orioles ahead, 3-0.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde. "Our pregame was pretty good."
