Big Day with Bat: Jimenez 5-for-6
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Eloy Jimenez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium today. The monster effort from the 23-year-old left fielder helped the Chicago White Sox take the win, 18-3.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Royals manager Mike Matheny. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Eloy Jimenez walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year Jimenez is batting .408 with 6 home runs. He has scored 16 runs and driven in 16.
