Toronto Beats Boston, 3-2
|
The Toronto Blue Jays took Boston pitcher Collin McHugh's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Fenway Park. The final score had Toronto getting past the Red Sox, 3-2. McHugh went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 7. Toronto pitcher Chris Hatcher got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Collin McHugh got the loss. The loss makes Boston 14-13.
Toronto used the bat of Cavan Biggio to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Biggio told a Toronto Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
