Braves Top Mets to Even Record
|
The Atlanta Braves bested the New York Mets, 8-6, at Truist Park. Ozzie Albies was one of the standouts. He was 1 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Mark Melancon. The right-hander allowed 1 run on no hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Losses have been rare for the Mets, who are now 18-8.
Ronald Acuna Jr., who led the NL in runs with 127 last year, helped out the Atlanta cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll savor this win," Acuna Jr. told the Atlanta Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
