Streaking Astros Win Another One, 7-4
|
Houston left fielder Michael Brantley had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Oakland Athletics, 7-4. Justin Verlander got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 11 and walking 1. Ryan Pressly finished the game for Houston and earned his 3rd save.
Brantley had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a single. The Astros went on to win.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Houston manager Dusty Baker.
Houston, now 21-5, is setting the league on fire so far.
