Mariners Dealt 9-4 Loss by Texas
|
A good performance from center fielder Danny Santana helped the Texas Rangers defeat the Seattle Mariners, 9-4. Santana went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Rangers. Mike Minor picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-2. Getting the save was Jose Leclerc, his 5th.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from third baseman Matt Duffy. For the game, Duffy was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Texas a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Santana told the Texas Today.
The defeat makes Seattle 12-17.
