Nationals Deal Giants 7-4 Loss
|
Yan Gomes was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the San Francisco Giants. The catcher went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Washington Nationals. The win has Washington at 13-13.
Washington used a well-timed hit by Carter Kieboom to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gomes said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
