Adalberto Mondesi, the Kansas City Royals 24-year-old shortstop, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for American League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 23 at-bats, compiling a .522 average with 1 home run and 5 RBIs. For the season Mondesi is batting .291 with 109 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 54 times and batted in 43. |
