5-Hit Barrage by Pham
Thursday, June 4th, 2020
Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Padres's Tommy Pham at Oracle Park today. Pham put up a 5-for-5 line against the San Francisco Giants, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 15-7 loss.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Pham said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose."
Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Tommy Pham singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jeff Samardzija in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season Pham is batting .301 with 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has 71 hits in 236 at-bats, 34 walks and a .396 OBP. Pham has played in 63 games.
