Hamels Calls it a Day in Atlanta
Sunday, June 21st, 2020
Cole Hamels said the one thing he hopes he's remembered for in his baseball career is for being the hardest worker around.

It will be time to start reflecting on his career soon, as the 36-year-old Atlanta Braves reliever today announced his retirement from the sport.

"I pride myself on my work ethic and I hope that rubbed off on my teammates and continues to rub off on the team after I'm gone," he said.

To date Hamels has posted a career 164-123 record with no saves. The 36-year-old has rung up 2579 strikeouts, has a 3.47 ERA and has allowed teams to hit .239 against him.
