Torres Grabs AL Best Batter Award for June Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 When Gleyber Torres stepped up to the plate in June he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the American League Batter of the Month award. The young New York shortstop posted a .303 batting average with 9 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 21 runs. Torres also worked pitchers for 17 walks to post a .407 on-base percentage. So far this season, Torres has recorded a .324 batting average with 107 hits, 31 home runs, 76 RBIs, 71 runs scored and a .404 OBP. |
