Madrigal Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Nick Madrigal is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Pawtucket Red Sox at BB&T Stadium today. The monster effort from the 23-year-old second baseman helped the Charlotte Knights take the win, 9-7. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Red Sox manager Billy McMillon. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Nick Madrigal singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Sean Brady in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Austin Brice in the 8th. For the year Madrigal has hit .347 with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and scored 13 runs. |
