Nick Madrigal Captures IL Award Monday, May 4th, 2020 23-year-old Nick Madrigal made a few Charlotte headlines during this past week as the rookie second baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and International League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 16 hits in 27 at-bats to put up a .593 average. Madrigal collected 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 5 runs. So far in 2020 Madrigal is batting .347 with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 34 hits in 98 at-bats and a .381 OBP. |
