Buffalo Announces Torres Will Retire Thursday, May 7th, 2020 His Buffalo Bisons teammates were not terribly surprised when Carlos Torres announced his retirement today. In a low-key affair, Torres explained his rationale. "My aches and pains have caught up with me. They don't seem to go away like they used to when I was a kid," he said. "I'm spending more and more time in the trainer's room and less and less time preparing for my next game. I've come to a realization that I've done what I can in this game and spending more time playing baseball is just stealing from my future self." When asked, the team manager noted "Carlos has always been an honest man and when he says he's done, well, he's done." Torres has chalked up a career 30-and-31 record with 5 saves and a 4.09 ERA. |
