5-Hit Barrage by Mazeika Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Patrick Mazeika is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-7 against the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium today. The monster effort from the 26-year-old catcher helped the Syracuse Mets take the win, 21-6. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Red Sox manager Billy McMillon. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Patrick Mazeika flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. To date this year Mazeika is batting .275 with 2 home runs. |
