Evans Week's #1 Player Monday, June 15th, 2020 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Indianapolis Indians third baseman Phillip Evans took the International League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Evans said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 27-year-old third baseman hit .400 (6-for-15) last week with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Evans is currently hitting at a .285 pace with 9 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
