Kickham Spins Masterpiece, No-Hits Buffalo Sunday, June 21st, 2020 Mike Kickham relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Buffalo hitless in a 2-0 win at Sahlen Field today. "Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Bisons off balance and guessing the whole game." The 31-year-old starter rung up 12 strikeouts and 1 walk in whipping the Bisons. "When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Buffalo skipper Ken Huckaby said. To this point in the season Kickham has 4 wins and no losses and a 2.70 ERA. |
