Red Wings Hurler Named June's Top Starter Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 Over the past month Jorge Alcala has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the International League. He proved all that and now he's been named June's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Rochester Red Wings posted 5-0 mark and a 1.85 ERA. In 6 starts he tossed 39 innings, permitted 26 hits and fanned 39 batters. So far this season, Alcala has logged a 5-0 record with a 2.03 ERA. He has started 8 games, hurled 48.2 innings and registered 51 strikeouts and 12 walks. |
