Herman Socks it to Suns, Cracks 5 Hits
Thursday, May 28th, 2020
The Greensboro Grasshoppers stopped the Hagerstown Suns by a score of 22-11 at First National Bank Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Jack Herman. The 20-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Herman said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Herman did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Suns.
"Not much that I can say," offered Hagerstown manager Mario Lisson. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Jack Herman walked in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jeremy McKinney in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Herman has a .282 average and a .352 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 46 hits, 5 home runs and driven in 23 runs.
