Albies Stars for Mavericks in 7-2 Win

The home crowd had a good time watching the Indiana Cougars and Maui Mavericks get after it.
The Maui Mavericks defeated the Indiana Cougars, 7-2, at DK Memorial Field. Maui second baseman Ozzie Albies had a superb performance. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Maui pitcher Clayton Kershaw got the win, upping his record to 9-4. Sonny Gray got the loss.
There was more than one reason the Mavericks beat the Cougars, but Albies's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring double.
"Winning never gets dull," said Albies.
The win gives Maui a season record of 52-41.
