The Maui Mavericks have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Jack Flaherty, this year's Dream Team Baseball League Cy Young Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.
Flaherty compiled a 11-12 record in 32 starts, tallied 257 strikeouts in 205.2 innings and recorded a 2.36 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .195 batting average against him.
McKay Sews Up DTBL Rookie of the Year Monday, October 19th, 2020 Brendan McKay's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Washington Moonshiners and today he walked away with the 2020 Dream Team Baseball League Rookie of the Year Award.
The 24-year-old starter registered a 8-3 record this season in 8 starts. Over 138.1 innings he gave up 99 hits, struck out 169 and issued 47 walks as he held the opposition to a .195 batting average and fashioned a 2.67 ERA.
