On Road, Maui Beats New York, 10-7
|
The inspired effort of New York center fielder Harrison Bader was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-7, to the Maui Mavericks. Bader hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Dustin May snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season. The loss puts New York at 13-12.
Juan Soto, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Soto contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Maui up, 4-2.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Soto.
