Jackalope Reel In 13-5 Win Over Kings
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Texas Jackalope and Virginia Kings were able to complete their ballgame.
Getting offensive support from Paul Goldschmidt, the Texas Jackalope topped the Virginia Kings, 13-5. Goldschmidt went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Jackalope. Lance Lynn, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 3.
It could have been a different outcome for Texas, had it not been for Gary Sanchez, the two-time All-Star . Sanchez contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Texas up, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Goldschmidt told reporters after the game.
The Jackalope now own a record of 29-31.
