Philadelphia Beats Seattle, 5-3
|
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at T-Mobile Park, taking down the Seattle Mariners, 5-3. Starting pitcher Aaron Nola was a big reason why. Nola got the win, improving to 6-6. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Nola allowed 2 runs. Seranthony Dominguez earned his 7th save in 8 chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Howie Kendrick? The Philadelphia designated hitter had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Phillies on top, 1-0. For the game, Kendrick had 1 double and 3 singles in 4 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Nola. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The last-place Phillies have a record of 40-49.
